We firmly believe that providing high-quality, person-centered care requires more time than a rushed visit. Our standard visit duration is at least one hour per duty as we prioritize the establishment of meaningful relationships. Remember, we are here to assist with various aspects of your care such as assist personal care, light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation, so feel free to engage with us.
Our goal is to assign you a dedicated team of regular Care Workers, emphasizing familiarity and minimizing the introduction of new faces which can be overwhelming. However, in case of emergency, sickness, or holiday cover, you might have another carer.
We will make an effort to assign a familiar caregiver, although it may not always be feasible. The replacement caregiver will primarily assist with urgent matters like personal care, medication reminders, and meal preparation. For less urgent tasks such as laundry, we will try to provide assistance at a later time or on a different day based on caregiver availability. As per our policy, household chores will not be undertaken during the initial two weeks of your regular caregiver's holiday/illness.
We will discuss times with you before we start your care service. These agreed times will be written in your care plan. We can't absolutely guarantee a specific time, as there are many things that can hold your home care worker up. They may have to help another service user who has fallen or may have been delayed in traffic. If your home care worker is off work for any reason, then a replacement home care worker will visit you as close to your usual time as possible. Our office staff will phone you to tell you what is happening. If we have not contacted you, please call us.
The times your home care worker arrives at your home can vary as there are many things that can hold them up. They may have to help another service user who has fallen or may have been delayed in traffic. If we have not contacted you to let you know your home care worker is running late, please call us to find out how long they might be.
Home care workers are limited in their medication-related roles, primarily focusing on reminding you to take medications in a monitored dosage system as provided by the pharmacist, rather than administering medications from original containers. The administration of particular tasks, such as injections, is handled by trained healthcare professionals only due to our strict medication policy that all home care workers must adhere to. To enhance clarity and safety, your home care worker is prohibited from activities like filling dosage boxes, handling individual tablets from original containers, measuring liquid medicine, or influencing the purchase and use of over-the-counter medications without a prescription. With your home care manager's approval, your home care worker may assist with collecting prescriptions, reminding you to take prescribed medication, administering specific eye and ear drops prescribed to you, and applying prescribed creams.
Home care workers are not allowed to engage in activities that could compromise their or your safety, including using faulty equipment, reaching beyond arm's length without proper tools, moving heavy furniture, or performing tasks like gardening, decorating, shopping on your behalf, administering certain medications, or providing unscheduled assistance beyond your care plan.
We understand that care needs don’t just stop during the day. If you require assistance in the evening or overnight, we are here to help. Whether it’s personal care, companionship, or medical support, we offer flexible care options to ensure you, or your loved one is supported during these hours.

A care plan is a written document that outlines your specific needs and the steps that will be taken to meet them. It details the types of support or services required, such as assistance with daily tasks, and any other necessary social and emotional support, ensuring that all aspects of your well-being are addressed in a clear and organized way.

Yes. Understanding the importance of notifying in advance if you won't be at home during your home care worker's visit is crucial. You are required to inform us promptly to cancel the care service. Failure to do so and being absent during the scheduled visit will prompt your home care worker to report your absence to our office. In such cases, we are obligated to ensure your safety and will take necessary measures to locate you. If all attempts fail, we may have to resort to entering your property forcibly with the involvement of the authorities, a situation that is both time-consuming and distressing.
Yes. Informing the relevant parties when you plan to be away for reasons like a holiday, visiting friends or family, or being admitted to the hospital is essential. You must contact us in advance to suspend the care services for the duration of your absence. Neglecting to cancel the care and being unavailable during the home care worker's visit will result in notifying the office of your absence. It is our responsibility to verify your well-being and initiate a search if needed. In cases where all efforts to locate you prove unsuccessful, we may have to resort to forced entry into your property with police involvement, a situation that is both time-consuming and distressing for all involved.

Care Inspectorate regulated home care means that you have greater peace of mind that the service you’re receiving is fully regulated by an independent body. In essence, a CI regulated service like ours is regularly monitored for safety, effectiveness and responsiveness, meaning that you can rest assured that the service you are promised, is the service you’re receiving.
Certainly. Your assigned caregiver will be by your side consistently to guarantee you receive necessary care during emergencies. Should hospitalization be necessary, they will accompany you for support. Our fully managed service is provided 24/7, 365 days a year so you can be reassured that you or your loved one will receive care all year round from a team of well-matched, competent and compassionate carers who truly understand your needs and how you wish to live your life.
If you no longer need services, you can request a two-week notice to cancel. If you need to decrease/increase the number of hours/days your loved one receives care, you can make permanent schedule changes with a one-week notice.
It is essential for a live-in carer to have their own private bedroom equipped with at least a single bed and storage space for their belongings to ensure privacy and relaxation during off-duty hours. In addition to a private bedroom, live-in carers require access to shared facilities within the property.
Typically, a live-in carer stays at the property for 3-6 weeks before taking a break of 1-2 weeks. During this break period, a replacement carer takes over on rotation.
Carers are entitled to 14 hours of breaks per week, which can be scheduled according to mutual convenience. This break time allocation can be distributed daily or weekly based on preference.
To ensure compatibility between you and your carer, we consider your interests, hobbies, and personality preferences when selecting a suitable match. You have the opportunity to review information about potential carers before their arrival.
Whether you prefer a male or female carer, we prioritize your comfort and dignity in providing personalized care services. Your preferred gender of carer will be matched with your specific needs and preferences accordingly.
